Directions to COBO Hall (The Venue):

From the Detroit Metro Airport (DTW):

Take I-94 East (towards Detroit) . Travel for about 20 miles . Take I-75 South . Take I-375 South . Take Jefferson W

For COBO Hall, Pontchartrain, & Hotel Ambassador:
Stay Right on Jefferson, pass Woodward Avenue. (refer map below for locations) You can Park in P2, P3 or P4 (approx $6.00/day)
Hotel Ambassador has Valet parking ($15/day), Pontchartrain hotel has valet parking ($17/day)

For Marriott:
Keep Left on Jefferson, go to Woodward Ave and make a U turn, Right turn to Bates, Left turn to Atwater, Left turn to Renaissance Driveway - Hotel & Parking P1 (Center Garage)

Registration:

I have registered for the conference, where do I go to get the Registration Package?

The registration begins on Friday (Aug 30th) at 1:00pm at COBO hall.
Please check in and show your receipt that we have mailed along with the invitation.
If you don not receive the receipt and the invitation by Thursady, please send an e-mail to:

What exactly do I get at the time of registration?

After validating your registratuion, you will receive the Souvenir (Spandhana Book) and the name badges.

If have already registered, do I have to still check in?

You must check in and obatin name badges. You should wear the badge all the time to attend the conference, seminars, workshops, meals, etc.

Will there be onsite registration?:

We will accept registration on site. We accept, checks, cash and Credit cards. However, if we exceed the number we have given to the chefs, they may not be able to serve the fodod.

Can I come for one day and pay partial registration fee?

No, we will not accept registration per day basis.

Transportation:

How do I get to the COBO hall (conference venue) and the hotels, is there any transportation provided by the Conference?

Due to logistical and cost factors, we are not providing any type of transportaion.

So, how do I get to the hotels and the venue from the airport?

We suggest to take a cab and it works out cheaper if you have more people since the cab charge is not based on number of people.

Where do I take the cab?

Cab will be available at the aiport baggage claim area and there is no need to reserve ahead.

What are the parkinkg places around COBO hall and how much does it cost?

For Daily commuters:

If you are staying in hotels away from the venue, we suggest
COBO Underground parking (P3) or COBO Roof parking(P4)
Cost: $6.00 - 7.00/day (overnight parking not allowed)

For Marriott Hotel Residents

If you are staying in Marriott, just park it in Center Garage (P1)
Cost: $17.00 / day with unlimited in and out

For Hotel Ponthartrain Residents:

Valet parking by the Ponthartrain Hotel
Cost: $17.00 / day with unlimited in and out

For Hotel Ambassador Residents:

Valet parking by the Hotel Ambassador
Cost: $15.00 / day with unlimited in and out

Please note that you cannot park overnight in COBO Underground parking (P3) or COBO Roof parking(P4)

Dress Code:

What type of dress one can wear for conference.

There is no specific dress code. However, we suggest to wear business suite or bsuiness casual (jacket with no tie) if you are attending business luncheon. For all other programs, anything goes traditional Indian (panche, shalya, jubba, etc. Sarees, salwar kameez, etc.) to Western.

Food & beverages:

Registration fee includes 7 authentic Karnatka meals (Dinner on Friday, Breakfas-Lunch-Dinner on Saturday and Sunday). Water, coffee, snacks. There will cash-bar in the evenings.

Saturday (Aug 31st) and Sunday (Sep 1):
Breakfast starts 7:00am and the program extends all the way to midnight
